USAU’s Ambassador Mary Beth Leonard hosted a reception at her residence on the occasion of the launch of Africa CDC. The event was attended by officials from WHO, African Union, Gates Foundation, China CDC and China Mission to AU. The most recently appointed Commissioner of Social Affairs H.E. Amira El-Fadil of the African Union was also present. The reception highlighted the Mission’s positive engagement with the Chinese Mission to the AU, addressing specific shared interests in the area of global health.
